Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Captures New England Championship Title

The Boys' Varsity Lacrosse Team traveled to Wheaton College for the New England McCoy Cup Championship against Berwick Academy on Wednesday, May 20, winning 15-14.
The Hornets came out strong from the start and took a 6-3 lead in the first quarter. The offensive end added three goals in the second quarter to extend the lead to 9-5 by halftime. It was a battle going into the second half, but the team kept the momentum going to keep a 13-10 lead in the third quarter before closing it out in the fourth quarter to secure the win with a final 15-14 outcome.

Junior Austin McWeeney led the attack with four goals, sophomore Landon Kaliszewski and eighth-grader Cooper Lily each added three goals, with Landon also dishing out a team-high two assists. On the ground, junior Carmine Cariati controlled the midfield with seven ground balls, while sophomore Trin Sukduang added six ground balls. 

The win caps off an impressive season for Hamden Hall as they hoist the New England Championship trophy under Coach Kiernan Griffin 2000. The team previously won the Championship in the 2024 season.
