The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team hosted Wilbraham & Monson Academy for a home game at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex on Monday, April 13, winning 15-7.
Junior Brian Anderson took the mound as starting pitcher, striking out two players and only allowing one hit through two innings. Senior Eric Jagielow pitched the third inning and struck out one player and allowed three runs on four hits. Senior Amato Civitello pitched the fourth inning and struck out three players as senior Billy Cole struck out one player in the fifth inning. Junior Leo Dotorri and freshman Drew Anderson closed out the game to secure the final victory.
At the plate, Leo went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and three hits; junior Jey Scanlon went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and three hits; and junior Sam Castro went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Senior Luca Faulkner had a double and two RBIs and freshman Dontaye Green had one RBI and one hit.
Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record is now 10-1 for the season and 6-0 in FAA league play.
The team returns to the field for an away game against Hopkins School on Wednesday, April 15, at 4:30 p.m.
