Hot Streak for Boys’ Varsity Baseball

The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed Putnam Science Academy for a non-league game at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex on Friday, March 26, winning 4-3.
Senior Billy Cole took the field as starting pitcher for the Hornets, striking out four players and allowing three hits and one run. Senior Nic Scillia came in as relief in the third inning to strike out three players and only allowed one hit as senior Amato Civitello closed out the game with no hits earned and striking out two players.

At the plate, Nic went 1-for-2 with one hit and one RBI as sophomore Graydon Greenberg had two RBIs and one hit. Junior Sam Castro had two hits and one run, and junior Jey Scanlon had one run.

The team won its previous game against Greens Farms Academy with a score of 15-0 on Thursday, March 26.

Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record is now 3-0 for the season and 2-0 in FAA league play.

The team returns to the field for a home game against Brunswick School on Monday, March 30, at 4:30 p.m.
