Athletic Awards Recipients Announced for Fall Season
TheFairchester Athletic Association (FAA) and the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) have awarded several of our Varsity student-athletes for their outstanding performance and dedication to their sport for the fall season.
“We are so proud of all of our athletes that received individual recognition this fall,” said Director of Athletics David Doyle. “They worked extremely hard to earn these honors.”
The Girls’ Varsity Volleyball Team won the New England Class C Tournament Championship under Coach Gary Aurora. This marks the team’s first championship win since the 2010 season. Senior Tami Afolalu earned FAA 1st Team, All-NEPSAC, and was named Class C Player of the Year. Senior Grace Yang earned FAA Honorable Mention and All-NEPSAC. Senior Ilke Altindas and sophomore Shawna Aurora both earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention.
For Boys’ Varsity Soccer, junior Anton Cruz earned FAA 1st Team, was selected to the CT All-State Boys’ Soccer Team, and was named a Western New England All-Star. Senior Kaleb Fiore earned FAA Honorable Mention and All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention, and junior Theo Baron was selected for the CT All-State Boys’ Soccer Team. For Girls’ Varsity Soccer, both seniors Jane Jagielow and Molly Romero were named Western New England All-Stars. Molly also earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention.
In Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey, sophomore Chloe Zebrowski earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention and was named Western New England All-Star. For Boys’ Varsity Water Polo, senior Heath Schwarz earned All-NEPSAC and senior Jack Cucchiarelli earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention.
For Boys’ Varsity Football, junior Logan Rapuano earned All-NEPSAC, and junior Jey Scanlon earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention. For Co-ed Varsity Cross Country, juniors Lily Evans and Daniel Park both earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention.
