Joan Rosenberg, Past Parent, Past Grandparent

Joan Rosenberg, died on January 30, at Whitney Center in Hamden. She was 93.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Marc Rosenberg. She is survived by her three daughters, Leslie Haller,  Hamden Hall alumna, Naomi Rosenberg Bowman, Class of 1980, alumna, past parent, and former faculty member, Beth Rosenberg Richter, Class of 1985, and her grandchildren, Owen Haller, and granddaughter, Orly Richter, who graduated from Hamden Hall with the Class of 2020.

Joan studied art at Syracuse University but switched to Columbia to earn a degree in Dental Hygiene, which led her to teaching public health in several elementary school settings. She was a talented and creative artist and worked with many media including mosaics, watercolors, and pastels. She frequently entered her paintings in the Mount Carmel Art Association’s shows, receiving multiple recognitions and awards.

Joan's funeral will be held in the Chapel at Congregation Mishkan Israel, 795 Ridge Rd., Hamden, on Tuesday, February 3, at 12 noon. To read Joan's obituary, please click here.
