Girls’ Varsity Softball Victorious on the Road

The Girls’ Varsity Softball Team traveled to Greens Farms Academy for a league game on Wednesday, May 7, winning 11-6.

Freshman and starting pitcher Chloe Carling took the mound, striking out six players and only allowing four earned and two unearned runs over seven innings.

At the plate, Chloe went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Senior Melanie Carling went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs as eighth-grader Caitlin Leslie went 2-for-5 with one run and four RBIs. Senior Mara Patterson had two hits, one run, and one RBI; senior Summer Krajcir had two hits, one stolen base, and  one RBI; and freshman Kristina Carlson had three runs.

Coach Laura Montone noted that it was a great team win and said everyone is looking forward to finishing out the regular season strong.

The Lady Hornets return to the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex for a home game against Holy Child School on Thursday, May 8, at 4:30 p.m.
