With education a “top priority” in the Letizia family, John and Laurie Ann opted for the Hamden Hall Experience for all three of their children.
Laurie Ann first served as a room parent for her oldest, John Carlo, Class of 2019, as she did for each child thereafter. She also joined the Parents’ Association and has served on a variety of committees, including Ways and Means and Hospitality, and is an Admissions Ambassador. For the past five years, Laurie Ann has served as Vice President and Co-President of the PA, a position she continues to hold. Over the summer of 2017, Laurie Ann was asked to serve on the Board of Trustees, a position she accepted.
“People often ask if I work for the school because they see me on campus daily,” she laughs. “I always refer to Hamden Hall as my second family.”
John Letizia, who is the founder and managing partner of Letizia, Ambrose and Falls in New Haven, can also be seen on campus – and is known for his unique Halloween costumes during the school’s annual Halloween Costume Parade and Assembly.
“Education has always been a top priority for our family and we believe the sooner you provide a strong learning foundation for your children, the better prepared they will be to meet their academic and social milestones,” said John.
Both Laurie Ann and John also cited challenging academics, top-rate faculty and administrators, and a supportive and diverse family community as being part of their decision-making process when they researched area schools.
Joining John Carlo under the pines is his younger brother Luke, Class of 2021, and Addison, Class of 2025.
“Our children have become independent and critical thinkers, with a strong desire to make a positive impact on their community. The extraordinary learning experience, unique opportunities, and exposure to so many talented and amazing teachers and administrators could only have been made possible here at Hamden Hall,” the couple explained.
Hamden Hall Country Day School is a nurturing and inclusive community with a dynamic learning environment that promotes academic excellence by understanding each child and fostering their individual growth.
