With graduation just a month away, Head of School Bob Izzo announced recently the two young men who will serve as Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2014, both of whom are headed to Ivy League schools in the fall.
Nicholas Strada, who has been at Hamden Hall since PreKindergarten, is the class Valedictorian.
“Hamden Hall has been my home for the last 14 years, and an honor like this is just a great way to end my time here,” said Nick, adding that just as special have been the well-wishes he has received from his peers.
Nick will continue his education at Brown University upon his graduation.
“I am so excited to start my new journey at Brown and hope that I can enjoy my time there as much as I did at Hamden Hall,” he said.
Peter DeLong, the class Salutatorian, entered Hamden Hall in sixth grade. He will continue his education in the fall at Princeton University.
“Hamden Hall has provided me with many excellent opportunities and I feel that I am well prepared to succeed at college,” said Peter, who also noted his sincere congratulations to his classmate, “Nicky.”
Mr. Izzo noted both students as representative of the entire Class of 2014.
"Nick and Peter truly exemplify the Hamden Hall experience that we speak of so often. They excelled academically and have thrived in all areas of student life. They reflect the entire Class of 2014, which is an outstanding group of young people who have distinguished themselves in the classroom, on the playing fields, on stage, and as stewards of our global community," said Mr. Izzo.
