Football Rolls in Season Opener
The Hornets began the new season with a convincing 48-14 win over Kingswood-Oxford School of West Hartford. On beautiful Sunday afternoon at Sonny Coughlin Field, the Hornets treated their fans to an impressive offensive display, amassing 41 first half points.
Chris Breuler threw a 38 yard touchdown strike to Kashon Brown, and then scored 2 TDs of his own from runs of 36 and 56 yards. Dante Brito also scored twice, one on a 60 yard punt return. Curtis Antrum had opened the scoring, and sophomore Jordan Coley scored the only Hornet TD of the second half, punching in a TD from 2 yards out. Alex Chiodo was near perfect on extra point kicks. Meanwhile the defense limited the visiting Wyverns to two scores in the 3rd quarter. The Hornets visit FAA league champs King School of Stanford next Saturday at 11:00.
