Chrissy Lifton Elevates Play in League Tourney

Sophomore Chrissy Lifton played a tough first match against St. Luke's #1 player, Katherine Pettee, and went on to face Olivia Rosen in a consolation round. Rosen, the #1 player for the Master's School in Dobbs Ferry, New York, had a tough path to victory; Lifton won three games, and took virtually every other game to deuce. Lifton continues to improve with each and every match, and today's tournament was no exception. Her ground strokes have always been exemplary, but she was able to change up the speed of her strokes and really throw her opponents, especially Rosen, off guard. To make it to the league championship is quite an achievement. Janie Motter earned a berth in the championships but was ill and unable to compete. Her presence was missed.
