Homecoming 2026: Spirited Hornets All Around the Hive
It was a week full of school-wide spirit themed days and activities, athletic games, alumni gatherings, and the sixth-annual Color Run as the Hamden Hall community came together to celebrate Homecoming 2026 both on campus and off at our Skiff Street Athletic Complex.
The Homecoming festivities took place throughout the week as students across all three divisions and faculty members participated in dress-up days with themes such as Pajama Day, Sports Jersey/Arts Day, Color Wars, and Green and White Day. On Friday, each division hosted its own event with Lower School enjoying an assembly performance of Bubblemania and field games in the afternoon in Taylor Gymnasium.
Middle School students enjoyed trivia contests and other games at the Davis Street campus before departing for bowling at AMF Circle Lanes followed by a cookout and free play at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex. Upper School students spent the afternoon at the Skiff Street athletic fields enjoying carnival-style activities, and highly competitive games of Powderpuff and dodgeball. On Saturday evening, Upper School students returned to campus for the Homecoming dance.
Our athletics program had a strong showcase between Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The stands around the field and inside the Beckerman Athletic Center were filled with fans to watch the games including Boys’ Varsity Soccer, Girls’ Varsity Volleyball, Boys’ Varsity Water Polo, and Boys’ Varsity Football on Friday and Girls’ Varsity Soccer and Co-ed Varsity Cross Country on Saturday.
Members of the Parents’ Association were busy grilling food as Alumni Hornets returned to the nest and reconnected with their fellow classmates. Current and former faculty were also on hand to enjoy the festivities.
On a crisp Saturday morning, the Color Run welcomed students and families for a morning of fun and movement. All participants gathered together in white T-shirts and vibrant-hued sunglasses to walk, run, or jog around the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex as volunteers showered them with rainbow-colored dust at various points around the course.
The DJ played a curated list of upbeat music and encouraged all participants to have fun. It was even more special as participants were able to personally color blast first-grade teacher Beth Messina, Lower School physical education teacher Elliot Markman 2017, and Upper School history teacher Evan Bieder. Following the event, families were invited to partake in different activities such as a cupcake decorating station and cornhole.
