Austin Aitro 2016 Weds in Tuscany
Class of 2016 alumnus Capt. Austin Aitro married Mary Jovanelly on September 11 at Borgo Laticastelli in Tuscany, Italy.
Mary is originally from Stratford, Conn., and she and Austin met back in the summer of 2018 while he was home from the Air Force Academy. They later reconnected in 2024 in the UK while he was there for a military exercise.
The couple welcomed family, friends, and guests for a celebratory three-day event inclusive of a pizza party, ceremony and reception, and a pool party. As of now, they have no honeymoon plans but hope to visit a Caribbean island sometime in the spring while they are back in the US.
Mary moved to Italy to join Austin once he returned from deployment and they still currently reside there. She works remotely as an e-commerce coordinator for BaubleBar.
Austin is the son of Hamden Hall staff member Vicki Aitro and husband Fred Aitro. He is the older brother of Class of 2021 alumna Samantha Aitro.
