Boys’ Varsity Baseball Captures FAA Championship Title
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed Hopkins School for the Fairchester Athletic Association League Tournament Championship on Friday, May 15, winning 11-0 in five innings.
Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Center, junior and starting pitcher Brian Anderson struck out six players and only allowed four hits through four innings. Senior and captain Amato Civitello closed out the game, striking out two players and only allowing one hit.
At the plate, senior Billy Cole went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI as junior Sam Castro went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBIs. Senior Nic Scillia had four RBIs, two hits, and one run; senior Luca Faulkner had two RBIs and two hits; and junior Leo Dottori had one RBI, one stolen base, and one hit.
The team previously won the FAA Championship in 2024 under Coach Brad Chernovetz.
Next up for the Hornets is the quarterfinal game of the New England Tournament against St. Luke’s School at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex on Monday, May 18, at 4:30 p.m.
