Boys’ Varsity Baseball Heads Off to Post Season Play
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed Rye Country Day School for its final home game of the season at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex on Thursday, May 7, winning 10-0.
The team honored its five senior players – Amato Civitello, Billy Cole, Luca Faulkner, Eric Jagielow, and Nic Scillia, with an on-field celebration and a reception following the game.
Nic took to the mound as the starting pitcher, striking out six players and only allowing two hits through six innings. At the plate, Nic had one RBI and one run, Eric had one RBI, and Billy had two stolen bases and two runs. Junior Sam Castro went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Junior Leo Dottori had two RBIs, freshman Chase Doyle had one RBI and one run.
Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record for the season is 18-4 overall and 13-1 in FAA league play.
The team returns to the field for the semifinal game of the Fairchester Athletic Association League Tournament against Rye Country Day School on Tuesday, May 12, at 4:30 p.m.
