Home Field Win for Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse
The Boys' Varsity Lacrosse Team hosted Greens Farms Academy for a home game at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex on Monday, April 20, winning 7-2.
The Hornets set the tone early with a strong performance on the defensive end as the offensive end netted two goals in the first quarter and three in the second quarter to take a 5-0 lead into halftime. The momentum kept going into the third quarter as the team added six goals to the scoreboard and one in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.
Sophomore Landon Kaliszewski led the attack with three goals and junior Austin McWeeney had two goals. Junior Gavin Giugno had two goals and three assists while sophomore Trin Sukduang added three ground balls. Freshman Bryant Krueger made an impact on the defensive end, forcing four turnovers.
The team also won its previous match up against Hopkins School on Saturday, April 18, with a score of 17-6. It was a commanding victory as the team scored nine goals in the first quarter and four in the second to lead 13-3 into halftime. The team maintained control in the second half, extending the lead to 15-5 after the third and closing out the game with a commanding victory.
The team returns to the field for a home game against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival St. Luke’s School on Friday, April 24, at 4:30 p.m.
