Conference Game Victory for Boys’ Varsity Baseball

The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team traveled for a rematch game against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Brunswick School on Tuesday, March 31, winning 5-1.
Senior and starting pitcher Nic Scilla took the mound for the Hornets, striking out 11 players and only allowing four hits and one run through six innings. Senior Amato Civitello closed out the game with no earned hits or runs in the seventh inning.

At the plate, Nic had a double and Amato went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double as senior Luca Faulker went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two hits. Junior Jey Scanlon had two RBIs and two stolen bases as fellow juniors Sam Castro and Brian Anderson both had one hit and one RBI.

Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record is now 5-0 for the season and 4-0 in FAA league play.

The team returns home to the Skiff Street Athletic Complex for a non-league game against Taft School on Saturday, April 4, at 2:30 p.m.
