Season Opener Win for Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse

The Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Team traveled to Worcester Academy for its opening game of the season on Monday, March 30, winning 23-3.
With Coach Kiernan Griffin 2000 at the helm, the Hornets delivered a dominant performance as the offense came out firing from the start and scored eight goals in the first quarter. The team continued the momentum and scored an impressive 12 goals in the second quarter to take a commanding 20-0 lead going into halftime. The game closed out with a decisive win and strong performances from all players.

Junior Austin McWeeny led the attack with an outstanding six goals followed by junior Logan Rapuano with four goals. Junior Gavin Guigno and eighth-grader Jameson Scott each contributed three goals. On the assist side, eighth-grader Cooper Lily dished out seven assists and eighth-grader Ben Fasano added five assists. Sophomore and goalie Ben Greenberg controlled the ground game with seven saves in the net and scooping up six ground balls to help maintain possession and fuel the transition attack.

The team returns to the field for an away game against Cheshire Academy on Wednesday, April 8, at 4:30 p.m.
