Boys’ Varsity Baseball Slides to Victory
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team hosted Brunswick School for a home game at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex on Monday, March 30, winning 5-2.
Junior Brian Anderson took the mound as the starting pitcher, striking out six players and only allowing six hits and two earned runs through six innings. Senior Billy Cole came in the top of the seventh inning to strike out one player as senior Amato Civtello closed out the game, striking out one player to secure the final victory.
At the plate, Amato went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs and Billy had one hit and one RBI. Junior Sam Castro had two RBIs, junior Jey Scanlon had two hits and one run, and sophomore Graydon Greenberg had one hit.
Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record is now 4-0 for the season and 3-0 in FAA league play.
The team returns to the field for a rematch game against Brunswick on Tuesday, March 31, at 4:30 p.m.
