Girls’ Varsity Basketball Wins NEPSAC Championship Title
The Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team competed against Kimball Union Academy in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Championship on March 8 winning 57-44 to capture the Class B Small title.
Taking the court at Noble and Greenbough School, the Lady Hornets were ready. Junior Maddie Benigni led the team with 27 points as seniors Tessa Porch and Reilly Chernovetz kept the momentum going on the scoreboard. Other player highlights on the defense included juniors Andrea Crump and Trinity Robison, sophomore Cheyenne Little, and freshman Julianna Stirk.
“I want to congratulate these incredible young ladies for all of their hard work and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done,” said Coach Brian Johnson. “This is a special group, and I am so happy to have been able to share this special memory with them.”
This championship win marks the team’s second consecutive NEPSAC title with the previous win in the Class C division also against Kimball Union Academy.
