Strong Spike and Serve for Girls’ Varsity Volleyball

The Girls’ Varsity Volleyball Team welcomed Pomfret School for a home game on Saturday, September 20, winning 3-0.
Taking the court at the Beckerman Athletic Center, senior Tami Afolalu led the way on the offensive line with 17 kills while freshman Mya Brevard had six kills and sophomore Sasha Oglesby had five kills. Sophomore Shawn Aurora had the highest kill percentage of the game.

Coach Gary Aurora noted that the strong passing efforts from seniors Brianna Sposa and IIke Altindas, junior Anna Aslan, and sophomore Anna Aslan were a key factor in the team’s success. 

The team also won its previous game against Millbrook School with a score of 3-0 on Wednesday, September 17. The season record has improved to 4-2.

The Lady Hornets return to the court for an away game against Greenwich Country Day School on Wednesday, September 24, at 4:30 p.m.
