2014 Alumna Works to Solve Complex Business Problems
Pursuing a career in the consulting management sector has allowed Class of 2014 alumna Allison “Allie” Izzo to use her data analysis and project management skills to help clients with their business needs in her new role as a manager at Huron Consulting Group in New York City.
“I was drawn to the opportunity to solve complex business problems, collaborate with people from diverse professional backgrounds, and learn from experienced leaders,” noted Allie. “Every project brings something new, and that constant learning and variety has always been incredibly motivating for me.”
In her role, Allie is responsible for leading the day-to-day execution of the projects, which includes working closely with clients, developing and managing project plans, and guiding a team to deliver on the client’s request. Additionally, she ensures that everyone is aligned, deadlines are met, and the solutions truly make an impact at the institutions with whom the company works.
Allie graduated from Wake Forest University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology with a concentration in business and society and double minored in mathematics and entrepreneurship. She went on to obtain her Master of Business Administration in 2023 from the New York University Stern School of Business where she specialized in strategy; supply chain management and global sourcing; and leadership and change management. She previously worked at Huron Consulting Group's Higher Education practice as a senior associate consultant within their Strategy and Operations Team.
Allie credits Hamden Hall for preparing her with the skills necessary to succeed beyond our halls, specifically how to balance academics with extracurricular activities and time management as those skills continue to be a key part in her daily work. More importantly, she said the core values of Hamden Hall have made a lasting impact.
“Hamden Hall instilled in me values like striving for excellence and supporting those around me—principles I still carry with me and try to foster in the teams I lead today,” said Allie.
Allie is the daughter of Head of School Bob Izzo and Director of Admissions Janet Izzo and sister to Michael Izzo 2012 and Christoper Izzo 2018. Allie currently resides in New York City. Outside of work, she loves to bake and try new restaurants in the city.
