The Girls’ Varsity Volleyball Team dominated its weekend games with two wins against Wooster School on Friday, September 6, and Wilbraham & Monson Academy on Saturday, September 7.
Taking the court during the season opener against Wooster School, the team was fired up and ready to go. Senior Summer Krajcir set the tone for the Hornets in the first set in the serving position as fellow senior Tami Afolalu and junior Grace Yang established the setter-to-hitter connection for the offense.
The team claimed its second victory against Wilbraham & Monson Academy, winning all three sets with scores of 25-11, 25-15, and 25-23. Summer, Tami, and Grace along with senior Theodora Aslan, juniors Ilke Altindas and Brianna Sposa; freshmen Anna Aslan, Shawna Aurora, and Zhanna Milani; and eighth-grader Aliya Church all contributed to the final win.
Coach Gary Aurora noted that the team is now 2-0 for the season.
The team returns home to the Beckerman Athletic Center for its home opener against Marianapolis Prep on Wednesday, September 11, at 4:30 p.m.
