Fall Student-Athletes Honored Post Season with FAA and NEPSAC Awards

With the 2023 Fall Athletics season officially closed, a plethora of our Varsity student-athletes have been recognized with honors and awards for their outstanding performance and commitment to their sport by the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA)  and the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC).

“The Athletics Department could not be more proud of the accomplishments and talent of our student-athletes,” said Director of Athletics David Doyle. “The accolades are a true testament to the hard work and commitment our athletes put in each and every day." 

The Boys’ Varsity Football Team won the New England Championship-Joe Lang Bowl under Coach Joe Linta. Senior Tyler Gibson earned Evergreen All-League and All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention; senior Michi Holley earned Evergreen-All League and All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention; senior Qayvier Johnson earned Evergreen All-League and All-NEPSAC; senior Uchenna Onwuasoanya earned Evergreen All-League; senior Mark Schoonmaker earned Evergreen All-League and All-NEPSAC. Junior Vlad Acosta earned Evergreen All-League and All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention; junior Charlie Gulbin earned Evergreen All-League and All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention; junior Qeanu Johnson earned Evergreen All-League, All-NEPSAC, and was named the Evergreen League Offensive Player of the Year; and junior Asher Wasserman earned Evergreen All-League, All-NEPSAC, and was named the Evergreen League Defensive Player of the Year. Seniors Alex Prezioso, Ryan Skoronski, Nick Tuccinardi, and junior Grayson Nicholas all earned Evergreen All-League Honorable Mentions.

The Girls’ Varsity Soccer Team won the NEPSAC Class D Championships under Coach Roland Joseph. Senior Lilyana Joseph earned FAA All-League 1st Team, Western New England All-Stars, All-NEPSAC, and was named NEPSAC Class D Player of the Year. Sophomore Kyla Welby earned FAA All-League Honorable Mention, Western New England All-Stars, and All-NEPSAC. Senior Alex Matthews earned Western New England All-Stars and All-NEPSAC. Seniors Alexa Bettencourt, Lily Schoonmaker, and eighth-grader Nala Annes all earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention. 

For Boys’ Soccer, senior Ethan Berman earned FAA All-League 2nd Team, Western New England All-Stars, and All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention. Senior Julien Gangloff earned FAA All-League Honorable Mention and junior Tyrese Cedon earned Western New England All-Star.

For Girls’ Varsity Volleyball, junior Tami Afolalu earned All-NEPSAC and junior Summer Krajcir earned All- NEPSAC Honorable Mention. For Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey, junior Ella Bessoni and sophomore Andrea Lim earned Western New England All-Stars, while freshman Samantha Blackwood earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention. Senior Mason Rickey and freshman Lily Evans earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention for Varsity Cross Country.

Senior Connor Jermain and junior Anthony Ferneini earned All-NEPSAC for Boys’ Varsity Water Polo. Sophomores Jack Cucchiarelli and Heath Schwarz earned All-NEPSAC Honorable Mentions for Boys’ Varsity Water Polo.
