William Maley Sr., Past Parent and Past Grandparent
William "Bill" B. Maley Sr., of Orange, Conn., died peacefully at his home on September 19. He was 99. Bill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Elisabeth "Betsy" Maley, his children William Maley Jr., past parent, Hamden Hall alumnus and past parent, Andrew Maley, Class of 1982, and Ann Maley, MD, several grandchildren, six of which are Hamden Hall alumni; David Maley, Class of 2005, Sarah Maley, Class of 2007, Matthew Maley, Class of 2009, Margot Maley, Class of 2012, Ginger Maley, Class of 2016, and Duncan Maley, Class of 2018.
Bill began his college education at MIT at the beginning of World War II. He served in the US Army Air Corp as a navigator on B-24s. He was co-founder and co-owner of Trans-Lite, Inc., manufacturers of rail and locomotive lighting, in Milford, Conn., until 2012.
