Class of 2016 alumnus Carl Porto III and his peers had the distinct honor of being published in Journal of Neurosurgery: Case Lessons.
The article titled “Diffuse-type tenosynovial giant cell tumor between the suboccipital bone and posterior C1 arch: illustrative case” looks at the rare occurrence of a Tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT) growing at the craniocervical junction, which is the region of bones at the base of the skull and top of the spine.
Carl graduated from Williams University in 2020 with a double major in Spanish and psychology and a concentration in neuroscience. He is currently a student at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University with plans to become a neurosurgeon.
