Michael Moore Hired as New Varsity Soccer Coach

A former professional soccer player and college athlete has been named the new Boys’ Varsity Soccer coach. Michael Moore kicks off his first season with the Hornets this fall.

"I’m most excited about this tremendous opportunity to coach at such a prestigious school," said Michael. "I’m looking forward to leading the charge to put Hamden Hall boys varsity soccer back on the map through unity, teamwork, hard work, and dedication."

 

A longtime soccer enthusiast, Michael has been involved with the sport since he was 4 years old, playing for Berkeley Soccer Association in New Jersey. He played at Central Regional High School where the team won the South Jersey State Championship and Conference Championship in 1994. He was voted All-Conference, All-Shore, and All-State. At Rowan University, he was a member of the soccer team and voted All-NJAC Conference in 1996-1998 and All-American in 1998. Additionally, he played professionally for one year with the South Jersey Barons and semi-professionally with BOCA in Toms River, N.J.

 

Michael brings over 27 years of professional experience including coaching and directing Adidas Coerver training and soccer camps, working as the Assistant Coach at Cumberland County College in New Jersey, serving as the Head Mens’ Varsity Soccer coach at Bishop Eustace Preparatory High School, working as the Director for SCP Youth Academy, assisting as the Girls’ Varsity coach at Daniel Hand High School, and working as the assistant to director of coaching David Dikranian for Victory Soccer camp.

 

In addition to coaching, Michael owned his own training organization called All-American soccer in Mt. Laurel, N.J., and started the soccer program at Elm City College Prep Elementary for students in Grades 3-6. Currently, he is the Head Coach and trainer for the Guilford Soccer Club and Director for North Branford soccer program.

 

Michael is in his 10th year of teaching as a certified Health and Physical Education teacher in New Haven. He is certified in First Aid and AED and has obtained his E license for soccer and Connecticut coaching permit.
