Varsity Baseball Team Wins Regular Season Championship
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team won the regular season Fairchester Athletic Association League Championship against Hopkins School on Wednesday, May 10, with a score of 8-2.
Taking the mound, starting pitcher and junior Gavin Lyons pitched seven strong innings, striking out 13 players and only allowing three hits. Freshman Amato Civitello broke the game open in the fifth inning with a double that brought home three players.
“What a fantastic way to end the regular season and move on to the playoffs,” commented Coach Brad Chernovetz.
The team returns to the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex to host the first game of the Fairchester Athletic Association Playoff Tournament on Tuesday, May 16.
