Senior Day Victory for Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse

The Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Team welcomed The Williams School for a matchup on Monday, May 8, winning 19-11.

Prior to the game, the team honored its seniors, Jiao Jiao Zhou and Hannah Herbst, with a ceremony as other players shared a few words and Coach Emily Anderson wished them the best in the future.

Taking the field, energy was high as the team led 11-5 by halftime. Junior Lily Schoonmaker led with 10 goals while sophomore Ella Bessoni and eighth-grader Alex Tombaugh tallied three goals each. Juniors Gianna Dellacroce and Elizabeth O’Hearn and freshman Sofia Cilano all added one to the scoreboard.

“What a great team win,” commented Coach Emily Anderson. “The Hornets defense held strong, stopping numerous fast breaks, and carried high energy and enthusiasm throughout the whole game.”

The team takes on Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Greens Farms Academy on Wednesday, May 10, at 4:15 p.m.
