Carmela "Cam" Casale Paradis, Past Parent, Past Grandparent, Current Great-Grandparent, Former Faculty

Carmela was born and raised in Portland, Maine. She graduated from Portland High School in 1948 and went on to study elementary education. After graduation she moved to Conn. and began her 59-year teaching career in the North Haven Public School system. Cam Taught at Hamden Hall in the 1960's. She holds the distinction of having taught longer than anyone else in the state of Connecticut. She later earned a master's from SCSU and a sixth-year degree in administration from Fairfield University. In 1952 she married her late husband George and had three children, Beth Paradis Griffin, a Hamden Hall graduate with the class of 1972, Michael Paradis, and the late Gregory Paradis. Two of her grandchildren also graduated from Hamden Hall, Kiernan Griffin, Class of 2000, and Cameron "Cammy" Griffin Porter, Class of 2011. Her great-granddaughter, Eleanor "Nell" Griffin, attends Hamden Hall.
