Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Propels to Victory

The Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Team faced off against Convent of Sacred Heart on Wednesday, April 19, winning 7-4 in a hard fought battle.
 
Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, captain and junior Lily Schoonmaker landed five goals while fellow junior Elizabeth O'Hern and sophomore Ella Bessoni added one goal each to the scoreboard.
 
Juniors Casey Armstrong and Alexa Bettencourt, sophomores Gracie Chometa and Addison Doherty, and freshman Jane Jagielow led on the defensive end and picked up 12 ground balls on the day. Senior and goal keeper Jiao Zhou tallied four saves in the net.
 
Coach Emily Anderson noted that she is happy with how everyone played and worked together in the game.
 
The team is back in action against King School on Saturday, April 22, at 12 p.m.
