Boys’ Varsity Tennis Wins Home Match

The Boys’ Varsity Tennis Team hosted Canterbury School at the James R. Maggart Tennis Court on Wednesday, April 5, winning 5-2.

For the singles match, junior Eric He won his two sets with the score of 6-1 and 6-1. Sophomore Matt Maniatty won both of his sets, 6-3 and 6-1. Freshman Jacob Schoenberger completed a major comeback, winning his second set with a score of 6-0 and the tie match with a score of 10-2.

For the doubles match, freshmen Cole Christman and Kaelen Annes won both their sets with a score of 6-1 and 6-1. Sophomore Spencer Schoen and freshman Andrew Yang won their sets with a score of 6-1 and 6-2.

“Everyone on the team played very well,” said Coach Kevin Breuler. “It paid off as the team won its first match of the season.”

The team returns to the court on Wednesday, April 12, at 4 p.m. to play against Greenwich Country Day School.
