John E. Sizemore, Past Parent

Hamden Hall past parent John E. Sizemore of New Haven, died on March 13, at the Arden House in Hamden. He was 84.
John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorinda, and his daughter, Alexis Sizemore of Hamden, an alumna from the class of 1994. John attended Troup Middle School and Hillhouse High School in New Haven. Upon graduating, he received a football scholarship to Delaware State University, where he earned a BS. He moved on to attend Southern Connecticut State University, where he earned a Master’s Degree in Education and his Sixth Year Professional Degree. Before entering his chosen vocation of teaching, John joined the United States Army and completed a three-year stint. He taught in New Haven Public Schools for 35 years
