The Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving Team welcomed Greenwich Country Day School and Dexter Southfield School to the Beckerman Athletic Center Natatorium for a tri-meet on Friday, January 20.
For the Boys’ Team, sophomore Parker Jones placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:26.75 while seniors Evan Huang and Patrick Cucchiarelli, junior Connor Jermain, and sophomore Eric Huang placed first in the 200 Relay with a time of 1:36.49.
The Boys’ successfully defeated Dexter School with a score of 103-52 and Greenwich Country Day with a score of 104-54.
For diving, eighth-grader Jehan Mody scored 115.05 points in the meet.
For the Girls’ Team, senior Isabella Ferneini, junior Mason Rickey, and eighth-graders Alessandra Sticca and Stella Herzog placed first in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 2:11.23. Sophomore Alexis Velez placed first in the 100 Back with a time of 1:32.54, and seventh-grader Vivian Martin placed second in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:42.63.
The Girls’ successfully defeated Dexter School with a score of 96-46 and Greenwich Country Day with a score of 101-35.
Coach Jen Lyman commented that the team showed grit and perseverance while competing. The Boys’ current record is 5-1 and the Girls’ is 4-4.
The Hornets return to the pool on Wednesday, January 25, for a meet against the Williams School and Kingswood-Oxford at 4 p.m.
