Blake Brownstein, Class of 2009, accepted a technical recruiter position at Facebook (Meta) in July.

Meta is the new rebranded corporate parent company name for Facebook.

As part of the recruitment team, Blake’s responsibilities include developing requirement plans to determine target matches, seeking out highly skilled IT professionals, working closely with hiring managers to discuss sourcing strategies and initiatives, filling key positions to support company growth, and overall management of full recruitment cycle.

He notes that his fellow classmate, Greg Reiner, referred him to the hiring manager for the open position. Greg has been working at Facebook since 2018 as a product manager.

“Greg referring me to the hiring manager is a great example of Hamden Hallers helping each other out,” said Blake.

The two graduates remain close friends since their time on campus and Greg was part of Blake’s bachelor party.

Blake graduated Lake Forest College in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He currently lives in Chicago, Ill, with his wife Lauren.
