A 'Model' Event: Garland and Glam

The models for next week’s Parents’ Association Fashion Show represent so many segments of our school community – from new students and parents, to alumni, trustees, an international television personality and even "Wolf," Hamden Hall’s longtime security guard.

"Garland and Glam" takes place on Thursday, Nov. 14. Doors opens at 5 p.m. for boutique shopping followed by a fashion show, dinner, and more at Cascade Fine Catering in Hamden.

“As a special surprise at the event, Wolf will be divulging how he got his nickname,” said Parents’ Association co-president Laurie Vingiano. “It’s really going to be a fun event.”

Our more “mature” models include:

Andy Acquarulo, Trustee and past parent; Emily Anderson, Lower School teacher and coach; Leslie Della Valle, parent; Sean Doherty, parent and coach; Malcolm Ellis, parent; Mark "Wolf" Findlay, campus security; Alfonsina Fraschilla, parent; Stephanie Herzog, parent; Christopher Kuselias, Class of 1980 and parent; and Jamie Sun, parent.

Student models represent each division in the Upper School including: Samantha Aitro, Devin Anderson, Brianna Bell, Anthony Aceto, Ava Vingiano, Michael DeMatteo, and Michi Holley.

Fashions for each model are provided by Flirt of Hamden and Backers of Orange. Models' hair and makeup will be provided by Adesso Moda. Other vendors on site will include Arnold Jewelers, The Blue Dodo, Ciao Bella, La Moda, Lady Olga, Material Girls, and Sophie Claire's.

“Attendees can get some of their holiday shopping done in November as there will be items for sale such as accessories, fashions, home décor, jewelry, and more,” said Laurie.

Several raffles will also be offered including the $300 lottery board – with untold possibilities – and a beautiful fur scarf from Prezioso Furs. For $1 a chance, raffle baskets valued up to $350 will be available.

“Without a doubt, our raffle baskets are beautiful,” maintained Laurie.

Proceeds – 100 percent of them – from the event will go toward the Parents’ Association’s 2019-2020 pledge of providing new furniture for Swain Library.

To further add to the fun, WTNH broadcaster Jocelyn Maminta will emcee the event.

Tickets are $60 per person. For more information, contact Laurie Vingiano at 203.710.7200 or email at laurievingiano@gmail.com. Click here to register and purchase tickets for the event.
