Jordan Hadelman, Class of 1972

Jordan M. Hadelman, Class of 1972, is the founding chairman of Witt/Kieffer, one of the nation’s leading executive search firms. Named in The New Career Makers as one of America’s top executive recruiters, Jordan was with Witt/Kieffer for 33 years before retiring in 2014. He became chairman and CEO in 1996 and was named founding chairman in 2009.

Currently, he is the principal of The Hadelman Group in the Greater Chicago area. As a strategic consultant to governing boards and senior executives, Jordan helps organizations drive growth by identifying the required leadership skills, strategies, and transparency to better manage HR systems and inspire performance excellence.

Beyond business experience, Jordan has been heavily involved in various philanthropies and organizations, including serving on the Boards of Trustees of Loyola University Health System in Chicago and Mount Sinai Hospital Medical Center of Chicago. Jordan is also the former Board Chair of Schwab Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, and he currently serves on the board of Christopher House in Chicago, a center of schools focused on providing education and community to low-income families.

Early in his career, Jordan served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and was charged with the oversight of 3,500 employees at Bethesda Naval Hospital. He received his master’s in hospital administration from George Washington University and his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Georgetown University. In 1997, Jordan was recognized by George Washington as an alum of the year.

Jordan and his wife, Deborah, have two sons, Spencer and Benjamin, and reside in River Forest, Ill. Spencer graduated from the University of Wisconsin and works as a sports agent in Chicago. Benjamin is a sophomore at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Jordan also serves on the Hamden Hall Board of Trustees and was a critical component in the Taking on Tomorrow Capital Campaign in his role as co-chair of the Alumni Division. In 2016, he was the recipient of an Alumni Achievement Award at Hamden Hall, of whom he proudly acknowledges a 50-year relationship since his arrival in seventh grade in 1966.
