The Boys’ Varsity Water Polo Team welcomed Wilbraham & Monson Academy for its first match of the season on Wednesday, September 13, winning 19-6.
Returning to the Beckerman Athletic Center Natatorium, the team was ready to go. Senior captain and goalkeeper Connor Jermain led the Hornets with 10 saves in the net, one assist, and two steals. Sophomore Jack Cucchiarelli scored six goals with one assist and four steals while junior Anthony Ferneini scored five goals with four steals and one block. Eighth-grader John Countryman scored four goals and three assists.
Juniors Eric Huang and Calvin Gormley, and seventh-grader Blake Zeitlin also added points to the scoreboard to secure the final victory.
The team takes on Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Greenwich Country Day School on Wednesday, September 20, at 4:30 p.m., at the Beckerman Athletic Center.
