Global Online Academy Honors Student Educational Success

Six Upper School students have received the Learning Pathway Certification from Global Online Academy after engaging in an exclusive digital learning experience.

The students include seniors Elizabeth O’Hern, Ayla Kirmani, Shaina Patel, Jakob Ressler, Mason Rickey, and sophomore Neev Makin.

“Our students’ success in Global Online Academy shows their aptitude to work independently, their collaborative nature, and their ability to show curiosity for learning beyond the core curriculum,” said Academic Dean Justine Fellows. “Hamden Hall is proud to be a part of such a distinguished consortium and ecstatic to see our students’ success within it.”

According to GOA, the Learning Pathways Certification recognizes that students have developed a specific set of competencies and interests when taking three or more courses. Furthermore, it demonstrates that a student has engaged in a deeper learning experience, pursuing a depth of interest and expertise in a field of study.

“Students who complete a Learning Pathways Certification or Global Learning Certification from GOA learn deeply about their own interests, preparing them to declare a college major or explore careers they might want to pursue in the future,” said GOA Director of Student Programs Jason Cummings. “Students are able to distinguish themselves and create opportunities for sharing their unique learning journey in the college admissions process. Having engaged so fully with GOA’s courses, students are particularly well set up to thrive as they head into college and career and beyond.”

In addition to earning the Learning Pathway Certificate, Jakob and fellow senior Janessa White have been appointed as Global Online Academy Student Ambassadors. The Student Ambassador role aims to enhance the GOA student experience and provide students with opportunities for leadership development and provide a unique opportunity to share insights, ideas, and passion will contribute to shaping a collaborative and dynamic educational community. 

Hamden Hall’s ongoing partnership with Global Online Academy continues to expand horizons for Upper School students as they are granted access to an array of diverse and international courses that go beyond the confines of the traditional school curriculum.
