#GiveTueHamdenHall: 24 Hours of Philanthropy Planned for School

This is the third year that Hamden Hall has participated in the national #GivingTuesday movement. Created in 2012, the international day of charitable giving is celebrated on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and extends from there into the holiday season.

Hamden Hall’s 2019 goal, according to Director of Development Michele Krasznai, of reaching a specific number of family donors within a 24-hour timeframe will ultimately lead to an “unlocking” of $100,000 in challenge gifts.

“Thanksgiving is just about here. To continue the spirit of gratefulness, we are asking the community to join our Parent Representatives by making a gift to the Hamden Hall Fund,” explained Michele. “Help us reach our goal of 332 family donors in 24 hours, and we can unlock $100,000 in challenge gifts.”

Parent volunteers can be advocates for the campaign. As such, an advocate training session was conducted this week with participants learning how to create an account, donate to the campaign, and then offer a match or a challenge to our community of donors.

“We are really trying to rally our community together for Hamden Hall. The money raised will go toward the Hamden Hall Fund,” said Michele.

The Hamden Hall Fund ensures access to more than 38 extracurricular clubs, 12 visual art courses, 8 theater courses, and vocal and instrumental music programs in all divisions. In addition, the Hamden Hall Fund allows every child access to the athletics program, which offers 18 interscholastic team sports and 16 coed athletic activities.

“This is all because of our philanthropic community. I encourage you to make a gift in honor of what you love the most about Hamden Hall,” maintained Michele.

Giving Tuesday is all about participation. The goal is to garner more than 65 percent family participation within 24 hours.

“Hamden Hall parents are going above and beyond for this campaign. They truly believe in our school and want to help in any way they can. My hope is the entire community: alumni, past parents, grandparents, and friends will be inspired on this Day of Giving and join us in our fundraising efforts. Make an investment to honor what you love the most about Hamden Hall. Everyone is welcome to join us in the fun. Alumni can make an impact by honoring their year of graduation. Let's rally the community, GO Hornets!” said Michele.
