Travel Policy
(Students and Employees)



If a Hamden Hall student, faculty, or staff member travels outside of the State of CT for a period of time greater than 24 hours, the following steps are required in order to return to any of the Hamden Hall campuses: 

Domestic Travel Policy

  1. Hamden Hall must be notified of any travel plans including the dates of travel and destination.
  2. Fully vaccinated individuals do not require a quarantine period or testing and may return to any campus following their travel provided that they are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the last recommended dose of the vaccine.
  3. For individuals who are not fully vaccinated, upon return the student, faculty, or staff member shall quarantine at home for a 3-day period and make arrangements to be tested for COVID-19 after the required quarantine period. 
  4. The COVID-19 test must be a PCR test.
  5. The student, faculty, or staff member must remain home in quarantine until the test results are available.
  6. If the test results are negative and Hamden Hall has been notified, the student, faculty, or staff member may return to campus.
  7. If the test results are positive, the student, faculty, or staff member must remain in quarantine and their return-to-campus date will be determined with the assistance of the Quinnipiack Valley Health District. 
  8. If a PCR test is not performed the student, faculty, or staff member must complete a full 10-day quarantine period before they may return to campus.

International Travel Policy

  1. Hamden Hall must be notified of any travel plans including the dates of travel and destination.
  2. Upon return to the United States, the student, faculty, or staff member shall quarantine at home for a 5-day period and make arrangements to be tested for COVID-19.
  3. The test must be a PCR test and must be done after the required 5-day quarantine period is completed.
  4. Hamden Hall must be notified of the test results once available.
  5. The student, faculty, or staff member must remain home in quarantine for a total of 7 days and have a negative test result in order to return to any of the campuses.
  6. If the test results are negative and Hamden Hall has been notified, the student, faculty, or staff member may return to campus after day 7.
  7. If the test results are positive, the student, faculty, or staff member must remain in quarantine and their return-to-campus date will be determined with the assistance of the Quinnipiack Valley Health District.
  8. If a PCR test is not performed the student, faculty, or staff member must complete a full 10-day quarantine period before they may return to campus.
Please remember that if your family travels, you must adhere to our Travel Policy before sending students back to campus - including the completion of the Travel Survey Form.

Quarantine Guidelines


Quarantine Guidelines for Students, Faculty, or Staff Members who have been deemed a Close Contact of Person(s) with COVID-19 (Close Contacts)

  1. Fully vaccinated individuals do not require a quarantine period or testing and may return to any campus provided that they are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the last recommended dose of vaccine.
  2. Individuals who are not fully vaccinated and deemed a Close Contact of persons with COVID-19 must quarantine for a total of 10 days. A PCR test may be scheduled on the 8th day of quarantine.
  3. If the individual (Close Contact) is a student who is not fully vaccinated, they must attend school remotely until the entire 10-day quarantine is completed and a negative test result is received.
  4. If a PCR test is not performed the student, faculty, or staff member must complete a full 14-day quarantine period before they may return to campus.
  5. Daily self-monitoring is required for COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 10 days. If the individual has had no symptoms of COVID-19 during the entire 10-day quarantine (day 0 is the day of exposure) and the results of PCR test that is performed on the 8th day of quarantine is negative, he or she may return to school.
  6. If the test results are positive, the student, faculty, or staff member must remain in quarantine and their return-to-campus date will be determined with the assistance of the Quinnipiack Valley Health District.


Quarantine Guidelines for Family Members of Close Contacts (Presumed Close Contacts)
 
  1. Fully vaccinated individuals do not require a quarantine period or testing and may return to any campus provided that they are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the last recommended dose of the vaccine.
  2. Hamden Hall assumes someone is a Presumed Close Contact when it’s a family member who resides in the same home, has not been fully vaccinated, and has been deemed by their physician or the local health department as a Close Contact.
  3. Individuals who have not been fully vaccinated and have been deemed a Presumed Close Contact must quarantine for a period of 10 days and schedule a PCR test not sooner than the 8th day of quarantine.
  4. Daily self-monitoring is required for COVID-19 symptoms for a period of 10 days. If the individual has had no symptoms of COVID-19 during the entire 10-day quarantine (day 0 is the day of exposure) and the results of the PCR test performed on the 8th day is negative, he or she may return to school.
  5. If the test results are positive, the student, faculty, or staff member must remain in quarantine and their return-to-campus date will be determined with the assistance of the Quinnipiack Valley Health District.
  6. If the individual (Presumed Close Contact) is a student they must attend school remotely until the entire 10-day quarantine is completed and a negative test result is received.
