Hornets Beat Marianapolis

Boys Varsity Basketball (12-1) got a huge road victory over Marianapolis 68-67. The first half was a back and forth affair as the teams traded three pointers. and the Hornets went into the lockerroom with a 41-35 lead. They extended their lead to 13 at one point before the Knights made a final charge. The game came down to a last second shot that was blocked by the Hornets to seal the win. Junior Jackson Benigni led all scorers with 26 points. Tre Breland and Christian Adams each contributed 16 points and were extremely active at both ends of the court. Tim Dawson was the floor general and defended the Knights' best player all game. From Coach Doherty -“I thought we played a solid game against a very well coached team that played hard. We came up with big plays when we needed to all game all the way down to the last second defensive stop to seal the win.” 

The Hornets take a break for semester exams, and then return to action on the 22nd at home vs St. Luke’s.
