Matthew Oestreicher 1994 Releases First Album

The last two years have been a whirlwind of excitement for Matthew Oestreicher, Class of 1994, on both the personal and professional fronts.
In personal news, Matt celebrated his second anniversary in July to wife, Alisa. Professionally, Matt’s musical career is hitting high notes! In September of this year, he will release his first album, Dream The World New.
“The songs are a tribute to the ‘80s pop and rock songs that first got me interested in music,” Matt said.
In other entertainment news, Matt is music director and conductor for Smokey Joe’s Café playing Off-Broadway at Stage 42. The musical revue showcases 40 legendary songs written by songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The revue first opened on Broadway in 1995, running for 2,036 performances, making it the longest-running musical revue in Broadway history!
Beyond directing and conducting, Matt is a producer, arranger, performer, writer, band leader, and educator. He’s shared the stage with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Jon Bon Jovi, The Isley Brothers, and Alicia Keys.
Matt has star billing at the world famous Apollo Amateur Night Band as arranger, keyboardist, and guitarist. On Broadway, Matt played lead guitar for Beautiful the Musical: The Carole King Broadway Show.
He’s worked internationally, touring with Chester French opening for Lady Gaga and others. He was a member of the virtuoso Jam band The Breakfast (currently Kung Fu) and the classic jazz group The Verve Jazz Ensemble.
Matt has written and collaborated on arrangements for the BET Music Awards, Bruno Mars, Rick Ross, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Joan Jett, and Michael J. Fox. He has composed for TV and film, including recent documentaries We Cause Scenes and Carvalho's Journey where he contributed music.
Matt has appeared on TV including Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The ESPY Awards, and Night of Too Many Stars on Comedy Central.
He was in the house band for the TV revival of Showtime At The Apollo hosted by Steve Harvey that aired in spring 2018.
After Matt’s Hamden Hall graduation, he earned a degrees in philosophy and music from Tufts University and New England Conservatory. Matt spent nearly four years living at yoga and meditation centers where he worked in exchange for instruction in Eastern spiritual and body practices. He is certified as a yoga teacher, chi gong teacher, massage therapist, and energy healer.
“I use that experience in the entertainment world and the holistic health world to create programs that educate, entertain, and enlighten,” he said. His newest show, One With Everything, will be released in 2018 and features spiritual teachers and practitioners.
Matt is also the co-founder of the non-profit Your Time To Shine, Inc. a supplementary arts program for youths.
