Bill Cummings 1978 Update

Jodi Amatulli
Bill Cummings, Class of 1978, is very disappointed to be missing the Athletic Hall of Fame dinner April 14. The good news is—he’ll be enjoying a vacation planned a year ago! However, Bill says he will have his former teammates and friends in his heart when Hamden Hall honors the Ice Hockey teams from 1976 to 1979 that evening. Since Bill’s days under the pines, he graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Science in human recourses management and an MBA from Cappella University. Bill holds a private pilot’s license from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Bill and his wife of 32 years, Susan, live in Westbrook, Conn. Prior to that address, the family lived in Preston, Conn., and in Montrose and Lakewood, Colo. Bill and Sue have two children, Jocelyne, 30, and Bill Jr., 28. Bill Jr. attended and played hockey at The Canterbury School. He graduated from Stonehill College with a degree in finance and is currently earning an MBA from Boston University. He works as a controller for the National Grid. Jocelyne graduated from Keene State College with a degree in sports management and is currently director of Amateur Hockey Development with the New York Islanders Hockey Club in Brooklyn, N.Y. Bill is the vice president of operations for Hocon Energy and Tarantino Landscaping. Susan is a graduate from Middlesex Community College. Bill quips that besides keeping him “in line,” Susan works for Thames Valley Council for Community Action as a Head Start advocate. Whenever possible, Bill uses his American Sailing Association (ASA) ratings to sail in the U.S. BVI (Virgin Islands). And he’s proud to report that he’s completed some pretty exciting items on his bucket list! He’s flown on hot air balloons, raced stock cars in Colorado, scuba dived in the Caribbean Islands, and has gone dog sledding in Quebec. As for things always on the top of his “life list”—fishing in the Long Island Sound and spending time with “the hockey boys” from Hamden Hall. Go Hornets!
