Brian Pacelli, Hamden Hall Class of 2012, got a shout-out for his set design in a Long Island City theater production. An online publication,
thetheatretimes.com, noted Brian’s contributions to
Dutchman. “One of New York City’s most dynamic young theater companies makes a bold addition to its repertoire with its engaging production of
Dutchman, Amiri Baraka’s provocative chamber drama,” the web review writes of the show staged at the Secret Theater. For Brian, who was active in theater at Hamden Hall,
Dutchman is the latest stop on his theatrical path—one he took following his Hamden Hall graduation. Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts in theatre at Muhlenberg College. “My education was wide-ranging from acting, to directing, to scenic and lighting design,” he said. Brian spent the past three summers working as a carpenter at the Santa Fe Opera in Santa Fe, N.M. After his graduation from Muhlenberg, Brian spent a year at the Yale School of Drama where he earned a certificate in technical design and production. In October 2017, he moved to Manhattan. “I’m aiming to be a fulltime scenic designer,” he said. “I have designed a few shows since then, and I'm working on landing bigger and bigger gigs.” We wish Brian the best of luck!
