Beckerman Lecture Series Brings Renowned Educator to Campus

Hamden Hall Country Day School hosts educator, author, and keynote speaker Jim Grant at a complimentary event open to the public Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in the school’s Taylor Performing Arts Center that will focus on tips and strategies for parents.

The event, part of Hamden Hall’s Beckerman Lecture Series, is titled Grit, Mindset and Perseverance: Strategies That Work. The discussion will engage parents as it will speak to strengthening a child’s grit, perseverance, and work ethic and provide techniques for reducing an entitlement mindset. According to Grant, “This common-sense approach will help you team with your children’s teachers in a win-win partnership.”

Grant is regarded by fellow educators as one of America’s most passionate advocates for children. He founded Staff Development for Educators (SDE), which is one of America's leading providers of professional development for PreK through Grade 12 educators. He is currently SDE’s executive director. Additionally, Grant has authored more than two dozen books for both educators and parents. He is a former teaching principal.

Hamden Hall’s Beckerman Lecture Series, sponsored by the Beckerman Family Foundation, is designed to promote engaging conversations about topics and themes that have shaped our world and continue to impact our place in the global community.

Reservations for the complimentary event are suggested. For more information or to reserve seats, contact 203.752.2616.
