New Career and Sport for 1990 Alumna

Class of 1990 alumna Jessica Kleinerman has found herself a safe haven and a new venture as she now works as an infusion chef.

As a chef, Jessica specializes in natural infusion cooking and baking and works to educate on the medical cannabis industry and promote safe usage. She has hosted a slew of interactive events where she advised attendees in a step-by-step process on how to create different food fusions with the proper dosing amount. She also has been featured as the prime chef in summer tasting events where she creates food infusion pairings for guests to try.

“The immersion experience allows guests to have an elevated and one-of-a-kind dining experience,” said Jessica.

Working as a cannabis chef was not always the plan for Jessica. She spent a decade working in medical education at local Philadelphia hospitals before choosing to change her path. It was personal perseverance and life experience that helped her determine it was a time for change. With courage, Jessica recently got out of an abusive marriage and is now on the road to healing. She said she has found joy in sports and discovered a passion for kickboxing. She noted that while her daughter had been taking karate lessons, she saw kickboxing as an offering at the same complex and decided to try it out. She quickly fell in love with it and works to incorporate it into her daily life.

“Recovering from a lifetime of abusive relationships has allowed me to understand how important it is to be a loving, involved and emotionally supportive parent,” said Jessica. “I'm finding myself again.”

During her time at Hamden Hall, Jessica was a member of the Field Hockey Team, Ice Hockey, and Co-ed Golf. She was the first female player of the Ice Hockey team and earned the Women's Athlete of the Year Award her senior year. She also participated in various clubs and activities including ski club, art, and theater as she performed in Princess and the Pea. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in ceramics from Ohio State University in 1995 followed by a Master's of Fine Arts degree from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1997.

Jessica currently lives in North Wales, Penn., and has two children, an 18-year-old son who is currently enrolled at Drexel University, College of Engineering, and a daughter, age 16. She has two dogs Juna and Lucy. Outside of work, Jessica plays hockey for The Lady Patriots in Warminister, Penn.
