Homecoming 2022: Annual Festivities Bring Fun to Campus

In what turned out to be a perfect fall weekend, the Hamden Hall Community celebrated Homecoming 2022 at our Skiff Street Athletic Complex.

Kicking off the celebration was the second-annual Color Run. Dressed in white T-shirts and neon sunglasses, participants walked, jogged, or ran through rainbow-colored dust thrown by our faculty and student volunteers. The morning concluded with an array of fall-themed activities including pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, and hayrides around the field.

As members of the Parents’ Association were grilling and serving hamburgers and hotdogs, Hornet fans packed the stands to watch Varsity Football, Girls’ and Boys’ Varsity Soccer, Girls’ Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Co-Ed Cross Country, Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey, and Varsity Water Polo during an afternoon of high-intensity sports.

Alumni returned to campus to reunite and reminisce on fond memories with members of the Class of 1973 pre-celebrating their 50^th reunion. Current and former faculty were also on hand to enjoy the afternoon’s festivities.

For current students, activities lasted all week prior to Saturday’s culminating events with school-wide spirit days including Jersey Day, Twin Day, Class Color Wars, and Green and White Day. On Friday afternoon, each division hosted its own events and carnival games with Lower School at Augur Field, Middle School at the Davis Street Campus, and Upper School at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex.

Other Homecoming activities included a trip to AMF Lanes in East Haven for Middle School students and faculty chaperones. Upper School students enjoyed a barbeque and hypnotist show at Beckerman Athletic Center.
