Dr. Lisa Hill Joins Elite Rank of AP Advocates

Dr. Lisa Hill, Director of Inclusion, Equity, and Diversity, was part of an “elite cadre” of AP Advocates to be recognized by the College Board and offered the opportunity to go before congressional leaders.

“I was honored to have been chosen by the College Board to represent Hamden Hall as our AP program is solid, and we yield great results,” said Dr. Hill. “As an AP Advocate, I come in contact with teachers all over the country and serve as a mentor to help other teachers navigate the AP world.”

Dr. Hill recently participated in Virtual Federal AP Week during which she connected with members of the House of Representatives and Senate members to share AP stories and highlight the benefits of the AP Program.

“Having contact with members of both houses of Congress from time to time allows me a chance to present the importance of AP in our particular curriculum. I was a part of the major rewrite of the APUSH exam in 2014 to ensure it was more representative of current teachings and took the increasing diversity of student bodies into account,” she explained.

According to the College Board’s website, “AP Advocates give voice to AP teachers, students, and alumni across the country, while demonstrating the impact the AP Program has on the lives of students.”
