Thomas Hogan, Past Parent

Thomas M. Hogan, 73, of North Haven, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife Lucille 'Ceil' J. D'Amore Hogan, three sons, Thomas E.(Jennifer) Hogan of Arlington, VA, Kevin P. Hogan of Denver, CO and Christopher M.(Hilary) Hogan of Corte Madera, CA; seven grandchildren, Wyatt, Moira, Connor, Malachi, Avery, Levi and Asher; a sister Patricia Hogan of Hamden and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward, Robert and John Hogan. Thomas was born Sept. 15, 1947 in New Haven a son of the late Edward P. and Margaret Lynch Hogan, was a graduate of Hamden High School, class of 1965 and earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees from S.C.S.U. He was a special education teacher for many years, mostly at Hamden High School but also the Foundation School and the M.E. Walsh School. He also taught at the Hamden Hall Country Day School Summer Academy. Tom Hogan was a wonderful soul, full of love, personality and wit. He was a man of compassion and a generous soif de vivre - a great family man, inspiring teacher and a loyal friend to many. He especially enjoyed sharing his many interests and hobbies with his children and grandchildren, encouraging them to share in his passions. He had an insatiable love for music, Cape Cod, pinochle and Trivial Pursuit. Most of all, he brought his big heart, sensitive nature and natural humor everywhere he went. He will be so clearly missed by so many. Services will be private.
