Brian Battles Pacelli, Class of 2012, “is thrilled” to have started his first working stint on Broadway in New York City in August. Brian is an assistant projection designer for Derren Brown: Secret at the Cort Theatre. He posts on Facebook: “So grateful to be working with the amazing @caitehevner on @derrenbrownbway.”
In September, Brian was in Durham, N.C., where he worked with lead projection designer Caite Hevner again. This time it was on the premiere of Harry Connick Jr. - A Celebration of Cole Porter. Brian reported that this show is headed to Broadway in winter 2020.
In early October, Brian worked with Caite on the preview of an off-Broadway show, Bella Bella, at the Manhattan Theatre Club. The show stars Harvey Fierstein.
Brian is assistant projection designer on all the shows.
A year ago September, the Alumni Office reported that Brian opened his first Off-Broadway show as associate projection designer for The Revolving Cycles Truly and Steadily Roll'd. The show made its world premiere with the Playwrights Realm at the Duke on 42nd Street. Last March, Brian got a shout-out for his set design in a Long Island City theater production of Dutchman. Brian earned a Bachelor of Arts in theatre at Muhlenberg College in 2016 and spent a year at the Yale School of Drama where he earned a certificate in technical design and production.
